I think it takes practice (!) to practice comfortably in front of colleagues. I'm a teacher, and this reminds me of what faculty often say of parents night...it is easier to "be on" with students in their classes than with parents, even thought the teacher knows his/her topic very well. The other day I was "explaining" a presentation to an associate (that knew the stuff) and all I got was "u're delivering it too fast." Well, of course I was. My fault, I guess.
