I'm a big fan of organic type; having been strongly influenced by various styles of lettering ranging from traditional calligraphy to graffiti. There is something wonderful about a piece of type that is unique, like a signature. Some companies even use it as their brand. Read the history of the Coca Cola logo sometime, it's an amazing piece of history. If you don't feel like creating your own font there are a wide variety of other sites out there to download from. One of my favorites is http://www.misprintedtype.com He has a good amount of freeware fonts as well as commercial ones. Please feel free to share your examples of work that you like also. I believe it is advisable to have one's own style but getting a personalized font is not the right idea. Rather it should be your style of writing and the content. I've always liked the idea of adding a 'personal touch' to my designs but I've never really had the courage to do so. Rather I tend to play it safe to going with the general concepts.
