Looks to me like they're a long way from Norway dude and any company called Impossible Holding AS

I mean you seriously should ditch this private dick work cause you're lame at it.

Looks to me readers like Very very very disgruntled and Mark S. are the same person. Working in a competitors company trying to put people of this video product.

A word of the wise to you guys. It's FREE. So download it and try it for yourself and make up your own mind!

Don't waste your time reading the ramblings of some paranoid disgruntled competitor passing himself of as an angry customer or a useless private dick. His facts are wrong and his arguments stupid so I'm guessing that what the S in Mark S stands for? Dude it's people like you that made it possible for Tom Selleck look good as Magnum P.I.

Wow...guys...looks like you either need to get some therapy or a girlfriend!!!

And just to prove it there's some exclamation marks so obviously I am also employed in 123PPT right?

To Very very very disgruntled I would say this...how did 123PPT take your money when you download and install a free trial version of their software? Since you don't pay to download or use it how did they take your money? And where did they run to? And maybe disgruntled it's worth reading what the limitations on free software are. It took me 3 minutes to find repeated on their site that the free software doesn't allow you to insert or use your own videos and animations. To do that you have to by a license.

Have you never downloaded or used trial software before? Most trial software limits the amount of time you can use it, the number of sessions or its functionality. What did you expect you could get full software and use it without paying for it?

Seems to me disgruntled that you seem a bit too biased and anti 123PPT to me...hmm....are you working in a competitors company? Or are you just so cheap you expect people to make things for you for free? Hmm...you're probably sitting surfing on someone else's line now right?

To Mark S, wow, what can I say man...Get a Life!!! Who cares? Seriously, unless you're studying to be a private dick why bother? There's no point taking moral high ground and ranting on about honesty. Can you seriously name a single company that isn't using employees to add posts on forums, links here there and everywhere and facebook pages all over the place?

Seriously, John, Jon, Jim, David and Roger or whoever you are the very last thing I would do is even respond to this post. It's so lame and whether you work for 123PPT or not and whether you're a Norwegian company or not seriously dudes who cares?

This article was a review of the software. The guy reviewing it liked it. Seems to me most other guys liked it and before you twisted sisters started your raving paranoia there were actaully some good things to read about it here.

But here's a small pointer for you Mark S aka private dick. Checkout 123PPT's terms and conditions and it'll tell you its owned and operated by 123OfficeMedia LLC. Now i'm not half as good an investigator as you but even I know that means we got ourselves a US based company here.

I'm amazed to read your paranoia man...seriously you need help and probably strong medication.

Very very very digruntled if your gonig to work in a competitors company then you just need to work in competitors company that makes a better product and stop being so lame. As for the rest of you whether you work in 123PPT or not I don't care.

I downloaded the trial (and disgruntled take notice). Press the HELP button and it opens a browser where it tells the same thing as it does on their support pages that you can't insert your own animations into the trial version. So the first thing you need to do disgruntled is learn to read before you start posting online. And figure out how the CAPS button works. You're far too dramatic.

By the way just to prove to our private dick here how lame his paranoia is. Here's a few tacky smiley faces :) ;) and the word "whilst".

OMG...I need to call 123PPT now because I obviously work for them and they're never even sent me a pay check!!

Susan, you are very perceptive. You wrote: “I am wondering if David Samson and/or Roger Luc work for 123PPT, as they both use the word “whilst” which the 123 documentation uses continuously.” After you pointed that out I noticed that "Jon Romm", "David Samson" and "Roger Luc" all wrote suspiciously similar, mostly long posts just raving about 123PPT, all use the same writing style and all use the same tacky smiley faces and lots of exclamation marks to punctuate their points. I’ll bet all 3 “people” are the same person.

Out of curiosity, I did a quick search for these guys. I found “John Romm” on Amazon.com. http://www.amazon.com/gp/pdp/profile/A22LZPHZB1WZ4H. His profile name there is Jim Romm. But he signed his post “John Romm”. (The tough thing about lying is trying to remember all your lies!) And there, more than 5 years ago, he wrote a single post raving, of course, about how wonderful 123ppt is. Then I clicked on the “more” link and then on the comments link on that page. It says:

“Don't you believe one word of this review! There is no such person as Jim Romm. This "review" was clearly written by an employee of 123PowerPoint.com (aka 123PPT.com). Just look up "Jim's" paper "company" "The Digital Margin" on Google. You'll see the domain is www.DigitalMargin.com. The site has nothing but a meaningless Flash animation on it. But if you look up the owner of that domain on any WhoIs directory, you'll see it is owned by "Impossible Holding AS" the same Norwegian company that owns 123PowerPoint.com Very dishonest tactic. Don't ever work with people who will try to deceive you like this!”

John, Jon, Jim, David, Roger, whatever the heck your real name is, shame on you! If 123PPT lies like this in its marketing efforts, why would we believe anything else you say? If any of you are real people, I challenge you to show us your Facebook or Linkedin or any other profiles that would indicate you are real people. If you don't respond with proof that you are real people and not just the marketing manager or CEO of 123PPT we will all know the truth!

If you are looking for a *FREE* trial from 123PPT.com...THINK AGAIN! They do not respond to emails, they take your money, and RUN with it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND 123PPT.com. Take your money elsewhere! Their software doesn't allow for you to insert your own animations, and they certainly do not support their customers.

STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM 123PPT.COM UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF!!!

Hi Susan! Nope sorry don't work with or have any affiliation with 123PPT at all. Would be nice to as it seems their product is fairly successful :)

As far as I can tell from reading both my posts Susan (and i've actually written quite a lot to share at least my experiences), I used the word whilst just once!!! I'm sorry if it's offensive. But i think it's actually more offensive to accuse me or insinuate that I am affiliated with a company I merely shared my user experiences with because I've used a word you seemed to have read repeatedly only once!

Actually...I also checked Roger Luc's post (welll...you got me curious) and he also seems to have used the word whilst once as well.

So obviously he must be employed in 123PPT! ;) hehe

I imagine the 123 documentation probably uses a lot of "Video" as well which I seem to do also but since you have also used it twice...hmmm....are you the CEO? ;)

As far as I know Susan the Music product is fairly new and was only released just before Christmas I think. I tried the trial. Haven't purchased or licensed it mainly because of budget. I had no trouble with it however when I installed and tested it. And it worked well with the video backgrounds studio installed with both interacting and playing very well. I made a few presentations with video and with music combined but honestly my needs for sound and music didn't warrant purchasing a license for the music product so I left it.

Sounds like you have a hardware problem Susan with your sound card since you say you can't get it to work at all. Might sound stupid but since you don't seem to have any sound at all have you checked to make sure your speakers are on?

I am wondering if David Samson and/or Roger Luc work for 123PPT, as they both use the word "whilst" which the 123 documentation uses continuously. Anyway, I have tried the trial, but cannot get their Music and SoundFX application to work with the Video Background application. Have requested info from them as to why with no answer. Just thought people should know that you can't use sound with the 123 Video Backgrounds application, and 123's Music and SoundFX application doesn't seem to work either.

PS: forgot to say thanks for the excellent tutorial review Eric really helped me seems it did the trick for you too Roger Luc?

By the way...have any of you guys checked out the actual PowerPoint video backgrounds 123PPT are producing?

http://www.123ppt.com/powerpoint-video-backgrounds/

I think they're amazing. The Electric Effects video backgrounds especially. They're a bit pricey though, so buck for buck together with the application seems 123PPT is not for amateurs. I'm guessing aimed more at the high end/ pro market.

Just a short update. The 123PPT Video Backgrounds Player is also available in a new Lite Edition. I'ts just $49.95, a fifth of the full Deluxe price with the same functionality albeit with a number of import limitations.

I just bought it and it works just great! Thought you guys should know :)

Hi Steve,

sorry but it seems as if you have to learn a bit more about PowerPoint ;)

What monitor a presentation is displayed is actually nothing to do with the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Player or its PowerPoint Add-In. It is a setting that you must adjust in PowerPoint itself.

PowerPoint allows you to define which monitor/ screen/ projector your presentation will be displayed on. By default it displays the presentation on the second monitor.

Since you say you cannot get it to play on the 2nd monitor of a dual monitor setup it seems you have incorrectly setup your monitor configuration.

I just downloaded the Trial Edition of the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Player and PowerPoint Add-In and had no problems. It seems the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Player is actually a standalone application Steve so you can decide yourself which monitor you want it to play from. I.e configure PowerPoint to run on monitor one so that the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Player application runs on monitor 2.

I have to say, I am very impressed with this product. I think the review by Eric was fair but I'm not in full agreement at all that a presentation with video backgrounds is distracting. Quite the contrary. I think it actually has a very positive effect at capturing the audiences vision and gaze.

The last seminar I was at the presentation was so bad I don't think anyone could bear look at it. Instead we all focused on the presenter. If the presentation had been created with subtle yet engaging video background, the audience would have focused upon the presentation and could then listen to the presentation instead of placing all focus on him.

Whilst a lot of presenters are natural entertainers and love the spotlight. Many really want to focus on gettting their message across to the audience. This seems more important that then presenters own image and ego.

A well created visually stimulating presentation to me seems not only to achieve greater audience focus and attention, but also better opportunites for the presenter to get the audience to remember his key points and arguments rather than what clothes he was wearing and how he walked or moved.

For me the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Player and PowerPoint Add-In deserves a massive thumbs up for ingenuity and breathing much needed life back into a very stale platform. If it's not the future of PowerPoint I would say it's not too far off the mark Eric.
